~ ABOUT US ~

The United Lutheran Parish, which consists of six ELCA churches in Shawano County, Wisconsin, is a cooperative ministry endeavor of Bethlehem Church, Pella; St. John's Church, Leopolis; Zion Church, Tigerton; St. Matthew Church, Bowler; Peace Church, Tilleda; and Elias Church, Herman. These six churches officially joined as one parish on July 16, 2000, as The United Lutheran Parish. They currently share one full-time and one half-time ordained Pastor.  Worship times have been adjusted to allow each Pastor to be at 3 sites each Sunday to lead worship.  Extra worship times are scheduled during Advent and Lent and during Holy Week.

The confirmation program is a joint effort among the six congregations with classes currently held at Bethlehem in Pella and Zion in Tigerton.  Classes are held at 3 different times - Wednesdays at 4:30pm at Zion in Tigerton - Wednesdays at 6:30pm at Bethlehem in Pella - and Sundays at 4:30pm at Bethlehem in Pella.

The United Lutheran Parish has an Advisory Council which consists of the president and one other member of each congregations - some congregations have alternates - but each congregation has no more than 2 votes at a meeting.  This council currently meets monthly, and reports back to their individual congregations.  Once a year there is a Joint Council meeting held to update all council members of all the congregations at the same time.  Click on the link below for current Advisory Council members.  Advisory Council meetings are listed on the Events Calendar - usually the 3rd Thursday of the month, but it does change occasionally.
